Milo Review

We originally wanted an outlet to help our dog, Milo, with his energy levels and his boredom at home. We came across Jay offering the K9 scent work near us and were intrigued. We enrolled him as a trial run and immediately Milo was hooked. We’ve never seen him so happy and engaged as he is when performing runs during classes. He’s a hound and originally bred for nose work, so he was naturally in his element. Jay was very understanding of Milo from early on and was able to adjust specific runs based on each dog involved in the class for their individual needs. He has progressed so far since his initial class until now and we will continue to enrol him as long as Jay keeps hosting the classes.

Jay has also been fantastic in assisting us with training specific to Milo, his food drive and working towards improving his patience. We have seen great results over the years with how much better he has done and it truly makes us shed a tear with how much more manageable he has become. Thank you Jay from the bottom of our hearts.

Jay has been absolutely exceptional. We have been going to Jay for years for a mixture of dog training, and K9 scent work. Him and his business have been fantastic in improving our dog’s confidence, and providing an outlet for them to be able to enjoy what they were bred for (sniffing). His attitude towards positivity and putting the dogs first has been such a refreshing experience and aligns with our values.

Our two hounds absolutely love the K9 experience, and we’ve been doing it for several years now (Milo has been involved for roughly 2 to 3 years). I would not hesitate to recommend Jay for any of your dog needs or if you are interested in enrolling them in a scent work class.

Ayla Review

We’ve known Jay for a few years after getting our other dog, Milo, involved with scent work and individual training. Our second dog, Ayla, has struggled with confidence issues in the past that we’ve gone to Jay about. Jay has gone above and beyond to help us to improve Ayla’s confidence in scenarios she was previously frightened. His positive attitude and positivity-first approach towards training has been exactly what our dog has needed. We’re still working towards building the confidence up, but she has come so incredibly far and it is a testament to his ability to connect with dogs.

In addition, the confidence she has built up from the K9 scent work has been incredible and she now tells us we need to keep doing it as she loves doing it.

Billy Review

Jay is so passionate and caring about dogs,he really gets them.Jay is awesome with Billy my 17mth old German Shepherd x Belgian Malinios.Not long ago Billy became hard to handle,her size and weight plus my limited training didn't help.

Since I engaged Jay not long ago,the change in Billy is miraculous,she is a totally different dog.With Jay's guidance for us both,Billy has really grown and shown what a beautiful puppy she is.

She loves her Uncle Jay and as soon as she sees him she is all excited.Training is now a pleasure not a chore.

Taking on a Belgian Malinois was always going to be a difficult task! Crosby is full of energy, has a high prey drive and a protective nature. Jay has certainly taken on the challenge with us! We consider Jay a big part of our journey to make sure Crosby is a well behaved little Maligator. Before Jay we had been through a few dog trainers that couldn't workout Korgs behavioural problems. We were on the verge of giving up. Then we met Jay.

Opal Review

We have always had a problem trying to train our dog Opal. We have had trainers in the past and nothing seemed to work with her, it didn't help that we got opal in the middle of a Pandemic.

We got introduced to Jay from Clever Canid positive training solutions and I can say the dog Opal was before he walked though our door is a totally different dog.

Opal has progressed so much since we started training with Jay and we could not be happier with the progress that we have made. Highly recommend Clever Canid to any new dog owner's that want to train their pups!
